Posted

A West Columbia man has died while incarcerated in the Lexington County Detention Center.
The inmate has been identified as 53-year-old Vincent Greg Horner Jr., according to Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher.
“Lexington County deputies arrested Mr. Horner Thursday on charges of driving under suspension, simple possession of marijuana and resisting arrest,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said. “He was transported to the detention center and booked in shortly after 5 pm”
Horner was found unresponsive in his bunk inside a cell with other inmates early Friday morning, according to Koon.
“In accordance with our policy, SLED is investigating Mr. Horner’s death,” Koon said.
