Lexington County man arrested after high-speed chase, crash

Suspected in 2 armed robberies, carjacking

A Lexington County man is in jail after a high-speed chase through 2 SC counties Saturday.
He is also suspected of 2 armed robberies and a carjacking.
LaGeorge Raul Jackson, 30, of Lexington County, was being chased through Chester, along Highway 321, and turned onto Hardin Strait Road before losing control, crashing into a tree and flipping over.
He was immediately taken into custody and taken to a nearby hospital.
Jackson is suspected of armed robberies in Elgin and Aiken where the car he was driving was used as the getaway vehicle. Jackson is also suspected of a carjacking in Columbia.
Deputies say the chase began on SC 9 west and went into Union County before going back to Chester County.
Deputies say he exceeded speeds of 100 miles per hour.
As the chase continued through the City of Chester, the vehicle traveled down SC 97 and turned onto Hardin Strait Road. Jackson lost control of the vehicle, ran off the road, hit a tree and flipped over. 
Jackson was charged with driving under suspension, driving under the influence, failure to stop for a blue light and possession of a stolen vehicle.
No law enforcement officers were injured.
