Lexington County set a new covid-19 recovery record this week.

Although daily case reports have been in double digits, no one has died of covid-19 for 7 straight days.

Lexington County set a new covid-19 recovery record this week.

Although daily case reports have been in double digits, no one has died of covid-19 for 7 straight days.

Columbia and Richland County have had no deaths in 4 of the last 5 days.

Health officials credit early virus detection and improved treatement for the disease.

Lexington County had 76 new cases and Richland County 79 reported Tuesday.

Greenville and York counties continue to lead the state in new cases.

Greenville had 240 new cases and York 127 reported Tuesday.

The Department of Health and Environmental Control announced today's cases and deaths (scdhec.gov/COVID19

Cumulative totals (scdhec.gov/COVID19)

  • Confirmed and probable cases: 205,004/13,908
  • Confirmed and probable deaths: 4,091/313
  • Tests performed for South Carolinians: 2,727,268

Testing opportunities (scdhec.gov/findatest)

  • Testing opportunities available statewide: 282

Percent positive (scdhec.gov/COVID19dashboard)

  • 7,375 individual test results reported statewide yesterday (not including antibody tests)
  • 17.6% tested positive as infected with the virus.
  • That means 82.4% tested negative as virus free.
