Lexington Mayor Steve MacDougall says he gets it.
People are hurting financially, he says, and a yard sale respecting safe distancing is permissible.
“If they do what the big stores do and let a limited number of people in, they should be ok,” he said.
“The police department received complaints about a yard sale but an officer went out and found just a few people there,” he said.’
“Our officer advised them to use common sense and follow the guidelines and they would be all right.
“We realize people are hurting for money and they were doing what they could to get through this.”
