Part of Beechcreek Road has been closed for the rest of 2018. 
The SC Department of Transportation found a major road and shoulder collapse between Wise Ferry Road and Old Chapin Road.
The close proximity to Lake Murray requires SCDOT to obtain environmental permits before repairing the road and shoulder.
SCDOT expects the process to be completed by early 2019. Construction should begin as soon as the permits are approved. 
A detour is in place for local residents to reach their homes.
