With the threat of covid-19 still around, many parents are not comfortable sending their children back to schools just yet. Lexington School District 2 announced today a new virtual option for students K-12 who want to opt-out of traditional face-to-face learning this August.
The Lexington Two Virtual Academy is different from the e-learning structure students used during the spring. The old e-learning platform was designed to be used for a short period during short-term closures for snow or hurricanes. The new system promises to be much more engaging with a set schedule, live and pre-recorded lessons, and virtual interaction with teachers.
Lexington School District 2’s traditional school program will most likely include some in-class days and some e-learning days according to a Facebook Post.
Those who wish to opt-out of traditional school for the 2020-21 school year in Lexington 2 can sign up for the Lexington Two Virtual Academy here: https://docs.google.com/forms/
