A Lexington High School student is in serious but stable condition after being struck by a vehicle on school grounds at Lexington High School early Wednesday morning.

LHS student struck by vehicle on school grounds

A Lexington High School student is in serious but stable condition after being struck by a vehicle on school grounds at Lexington High School early Wednesday morning.

Emergency response units were dispatched to Lexington High School just after 8:15 am following the incident. 

Upon arrival, Lexington County firefighters and EMS units began providing immediate emergency medical care to the student before transporting them to a local hospital.

According to District 1 spokersperson Mary Beth Hill, an11th-grader stepped out to cross to Lexington Technology Center from a Lexington High School parking area when he was hit by a truck.

Lexington County School District One officials have notified the student’s parents.

The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the incident.
