Look out for roadside clean-up crews Thursday

Posted

The South Carolina Department of Transportation will hold a highway litter clean-up event Mar. 14.

Hundreds of SCDOT employees will participate in the “Spring Spruce Up.”

“SCDOT recognizes the negative impact of litter. Not only is it an eyesore, but it can discourage economic development and hurt our state’s economy,” said Secretary of Transportation Christy Hall.

“The best solution is not to litter in the first place, and all South Carolinians share in that responsibility," Hall said.

“By participating in the Spring Spruce Up event, SCDOT employees are doing their part to combat the litter problem in South Carolina.”

SCDOT asks motorists to be aware of cleanup activities along the roadsides and to use caution as necessary. “Let ‘em Work. Let ‘em Live.”
