It's OK to show up at Columbia Metropolitan Airport without a face mask.

The airport has 55,000 free masks for you and other travelers, courtesy of the Federal Aviation Administration .

“Having free masks available for passengers aids in our commitment to the well-being of everyone.” said Executive Director Mike Gula.

Free masks are available at the information desk in the main lobby and the TSA security checkpoint.

American, Delta and United Airlines requires passengers to wear a mask or face covering onboard their flights.

Airlines have said that any passenger without a face mask or covering will be provided one at no charge.

Added precautions include:

- Hand sanitizer stations throughout the terminal and at all departures

- Restroom cleaning every 1-2 hours

- Increased sanitizing in public seating. handrails, escalators and elevator buttons

- Food concessions serve a limited menu with social distancing for diners

- Plexiglass shields at airline counters, retail shops, TSA checkpoints and the restaurant

- Social distancing markings on the floor throughout the airport
