Did you know that most of us are optimistic about going back to work?

And most of us think our jobs will be here after the pandemic.

About 91% of respondents to a Chernoff Newman ad agency survey said they were "very confident" or "somewhat confident" they'll still be working.

Those in 1 in 5 families feel their stress level has reached the point of "meltdown" amid the crisis.

The survey was of 500 people in both Carolinas covering topics from confidence in news media to job security, the Charleston Post and Courier reported.

There is a tension between consumers' concerns for their health and their finances, though health by a small margin, causes more worr.

36% of South Carolinians are "very concerned" about their health.

27% feel the same concern for their finances.

The switch to working from home was the most common change, followed by a reduction in hours.

12% said they had lost a job and another 13% said they were furloughed.

The pandemic has dealt a huge blow to employment in South Carolina.

Over 6 weeks, more than 406,000 unemployment claims were filed.

Survey respomdents were more likely to feel the news was not taking the health crisis seriously enough than being exaggerated.

45% felt the news they've been consuming is "fairly accurate," while 31% want covid-19 to be taken more seriously.

Nearly all respondents said they miss going out to eat.

About 66% said they expect to keep cooking at home more even after restrictions are lifted.

Another 41% said they'll continue ordering food to-go instead of eating in a restaurant.

70% said they will practice social distancing and 86% will wash their hands more.

Only 9% of South Carolina consumers said they're very confident about summer travel plans/

24% in both states said they're not confident.

About 66% have already cancelled trips due to the virus,.
