Woman arrested smuggling

contraband into jail

A Lexington County woman faces charges after she reportedly tried to sneak contraband into the Tyger River Correctional in Spartanburg County.

Christy Leigh Mills, 36, was arrested Saturday after she tried to sneak tobacco and Klonopin pills into the facility while visiting an inmate.

Mills was charged with possession with intent to distribute, criminal conspiracy and attempting to furnish a prisoner with contraband.

Killer gets 30 years

Gerardor Villarreal Rodriguez, 45, pled guilty to the stabbing death of his common law wife, Yadira Rodriguez.

The victim was the mother of two children, ages 3 and 5, which she shared with Rodriguez.

Rodriguez broke into the home where the victim was living. The victim fled the home and was fatally stabbed outside the residence.

Child abuser gets 40 years

Eric English, 30, was found guilty of Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor in the First Degree for the sexual assault of a minor under the age of 11.

English received a 40 year sentence.

Gaston mom arrested for

child abuse, neglect

Grace Imholte, 19, is charged with child abuse and unlawful neglect of a child after investigators determined she caused injuries to her son then waited more than 10 days before seeking medical treatment.

The Gaston teen was arrested and charged Thursday after she admitted to hurting her infant son, whose injuries included six broken ribs, a fractured leg and bleeding to his eye, according to arrest warrants.
