SC health officials have begun reporting incidents of covid-19 in schools.
No covid-19 cases were reported in any Chronicle Country public or private schools this week.
The Department of Health and Environmental Control Friday announced:
- 1,511 new confirmed cases and 34 new probable cases.
Lexington County had 83 new cases.
Richland County had 438, many of them believed to be college students.
- 37 additional confirmed deaths and 2 new probable deaths.
No reported deaths occurred in Lexington or Richland County Thursday.
2 elderly people in Lexington County and 1 middle-aged person in Richland County died Wednesday.
- Total confirmed cases to date are 121,378, probable cases 1,947, confirmed deaths 2,706, and 140 probable deaths.

- As of Thursday, 1,046,613 tests have been conducted in the state.
- 8,261 individual test results were reported yesterday statewide.
- Of those, the percent positive was 18.3% as infected.
That means 81.7% were negative as uninfected.
