SC health officials reported 15 confirmed covid deaths Tuesday.

None were in Lexington or Richland counties.

It was the lowest fatality count in 8 days.

No covid deaths in Lexington, Richland counties

SC deaths reached an 8-day low Tuesday

SC health officials reported 15 confirmed covid deaths Tuesday.

None were in Lexington or Richland counties.

It was the lowest fatality count in 8 days.

The state's case count remains high, with 2,087 new cases reported Tuesday.

That's down from 2,155 new cases reported Monday.

Lexington County had 125 new cases Tuesdqy.

Richland County had 102 new cases.

Greenville County continues to report the most new cases with 291 Tuesday.

Spartanburg County is close behind with 242 new cases.

As a reminder, DHEC will not report daily covid-19 numbers on Christmas Day or New Year’s Day.

Data that would be reported then will be available online the next day.

  • Confirmed and probable cases: 257,340/20,715
  • Confirmed and probable deaths: 4,602/374
  • Tests performed for South Carolinians: 3,370,118

Testing opportunities (scdhec.gov/findatest)

  • Testing opportunities available statewide: 321

Percent positive (scdhec.gov/COVID19dashboard)

  • 11,356  new individual test results reported statewide (not including antibody tests)
  • 18.1%  tested positive as infected.
  •  That means 81.9% tested negative as uninfected.
