No Halloween parties for bad boys this year.
The SC Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services has informed the Chronicle that they have imposed a statewide curfew for sex offenders on probation or parole.
To protect the public, all offenders whose crimes were against children will be prohibited from being on the streets between 5:30 and 9 pm on Halloween night, Oct, 30.
This does not apply to all registered sex offenders.
Many of them are no longer on probation or parole.
Sex offenders have been informed of these restrictions:
• No porch or exterior lights on outside their residence.
• No candy distribution.
• No participation in Halloween parties or carnivals
• Remain inside their residences.
Due to covid-19 restrictions, supervised sex offenders are to remain inside during the curfew hours.
They will be under surveillance through “team home visits."
Concerned citizens may visit the State Law Enforcement Division website for a list of sex offenders in their area at scor.sled.sc.gov/
