Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the individual who died as a result of a motor vehicle collision that occurred on October 4, 2019 shortly before 7 pm near mile marker 48 of Interstate 20 Eastbound.

Fadli S. Bashatov, 35, of Ohio was pronounced dead at the scene Friday due to injuries sustained.

Bashatov, who was operating a tractor trailer, struck the rear of another tractor trailer in a congested area.

The collision caused Bashatov’s vehicle to leave the right side of the roadway and collide with several trees before coming to a stop. The driver of the other tractor trailer was not injured.

An investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol is ongoing.
