Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the pedestrian who was killed as a result of being struck by a motor vehicle in the 4900 block of US 321 just after 6 pm, Nov. 1.
According to Coroner Fisher,  John Scott Castner, 52, of Gaston was pronounced dead at the scene due to his injuries. Castner was walking in the roadway when he was struck by a northbound vehicle.The driver of the vehicle, who was uninjured, stopped at the scene.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
