A 12-year-old female at Pine Ridge Middle School has been charged with threatening students after deputies determined she told 2 students she was going to kill them, the Sheriff's Department reported Thursday evening.

A Lexington County deputy interviewed the student, whose name will not be released because she’s under the age of 18, at the school before releasing her to the custody of her parents.

The student will appear in Lexington County Family Court at a later date.
