A Blythewood man is dead after evading a traffic stop in Cayce May 11.

Quinton J. Nunn, 26, was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle collision, according to Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher.

Nunn attempted to evade a traffic stop initiated by a Trooper with the South Carolina Highway Patrol, which led to a brief pursuit. 

Nunn lost control of the vehicle he was driving, crossed the median, left the roadway, and collided with several trees in the 4300 block of 12th Street Extension. He was not wearing a seat belt when the collision occurred. 

The incident is under investigation by the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department.
