Primary runoff Tuesday

9 candidates are on the ballot in the SC runoff election June 26.
The Lexington County polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Gov. Henry McMaster, in seeking his first full term, finished first in Tuesday’s five-person GOP primary with 42% of the vote.
Without a clear 50% plus 1 vote, McMaster faces a runoff against Greenville businessman John Warren, who came in second with 28%.
Two primary opponents– Charleston lawyer Catherine Templeton and Lt. Gov. Kevin Bryant – have thrown their support to Warren.
The GOP runoff winner will face Democratic nominee state Rep. James Smith of Columbia in November.
SC Attorney General Alan Wilson took 49% of the GOP vote Tuesday.
He faces a runoff against Lexington attorney and state Rep. Todd Atwater, who won 30%.
Atwater has the endorsement of Greenville attorney William Herlong, the third candidate in Tuesday’s GOP primary.
The winner faces Democrat Constance Anastopoulo in November.
Real estate agent and former Army recruiter Sean Carrigan will face off with attorney and activist Annabelle Robertson to decide the Democratic nominee. The winner will face incumbent Joe Wilson for the 2nd District’s congressional seat.
In the race for District 87’s House seat, business-owner Paula Rawl Calhoon took 46% of Tuesday’s vote. Local businessman and Town Council member Todd Carnes had 41%. The winner will face Democrat Diane Summers in November.
