The Federal Trade Commission will mark Tax Identity Theft Awareness Week Feb. 3-7, 2020 with several free online events.
They'll share warning signs of tax identity theft and government imposter scams.
Learn how to protect yourself and your family, and what you should do if you’re a victim of tax identity theft.

On Jan. 29, 1 pm EST the FTC and U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service will discuss identity theft, tax identity theft, and government imposter scams. Visit this link to attend: https://www.vaitcampus.com/classroom/live/17059 .
On Feb. 3, 2 pm EST the FTC and Identity Theft Resource Center will discuss identity theft and tax identity theft. Sign up at www.idtheftcenter.org/tax-identity-theft-awareness-week-2020 .
On Feb. 4, 2 pm EST the FTC and IRS will host a webinar for small businesses. Learn data security practices that are practical. Protect sensitive business and customer info. Learn about imposter scams that target small businesses like yours. You'll need to log in and dial in using a phone, for full instructions visit the FTC website by clicking here https://www.ftc.gov/news-events/events-calendar/tax-id-theft-awareness-week-webinar-small-businesses-ftc-irs.
On Feb. 5, 10 am and 1 pm, the FTC, AARP, and the US Treasury Department will discuss tax identity theft and government imposter scams. View the live streams at http://www.facebook.com/learnat50plus .
On Feb. 6, 2 pm EST, the FTC and Identity Theft Resource Center will discuss government imposter scams. A Twitter chat will follow on tax identity theft and government imposter scams.
