New airline's $49 flights start Dec. 17

Despite covid-19, a new airline will take you from here to Florida starting Dec. 17

Silver Airways will begin service to 3 Florida cities from Columbia Metropolitan Airport.

The low-cost carrier will fly to Tampa, Fort Lauderdale and Orlando with fares starting at $49 1 way.

Flights will depart twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays.

CAE Executive Director Mike Gula said, “This airline addition supports our focus on moving forward no matter what. We will get our travelers there and back, safely and with ease.”

Silver Airways also flies to the Bahamas and its Caribbean network connects Puerto Rico with the US Virgin Islands and the Dominican Republic.

The carrier is a partner with United, JetBlue, American, Delta, Avianca and Copa Airlines, and has interline agreements with Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, All Nippon Airways, Azul, Bahamasair, Emirates and Hahn Air.
