AccelerateSC discusses pro and cons

How can we safely reopen barbershops, nail salons and gyms?

This question arose at the latest AccelerateSC Task Force meeting, WIS-TV reported.

The state is also looking ahead to what’s next for other industries still needing to reoped.

This includes amusement parks and other tourist attractions as the summer season approaches.

With restaurants and close-contact businesses, the number of customers being served may be limited.

This isn’t necessarily the case with places like amusement parks.

This could be a contact tracing problem for who you have been in contact with after testing positive for covid-19.

Expanded testing and contact tracing are important federal health guidelines.

Privacy concerns have arisen from contact tracing.

Gov; Henry McMaster said, “When someone has tested positive, then they are asked to give information as to where they’ve been and whom they’ve seen where they have been in close contact situations – actually been in closer contact

"They’re not required to give that information. Everyone’s identify, of course, is protected.”

The Department of Health and Environmental Control will be taking on 1,800 contact tracers.

Another concern is the great need for child care.

The Department of Social Services reported 48% (1,154) of licensed child care facilities are closed.

This is down from the 53% (1,288) that were closed in mid-April.
