House Speaker Jay Lucas has appointed Rep. Chris Wooten of Lexington to an Equitable Justice System and Law Enforcement Reform Committee. Wooten is a former law enforcement officer and local businessman. The committee represents a bipartisan, diverse group of lawmakers to recommend reforms to improve our state’s justice system and law enforcement policies. Lucas said Wooten and other members will examine: 1. Law Enforcement Officer Training, Tactics, Standards and Accountability 2. Civil Asset Forfeiture Reform 3. Criminal Process and Procedure Reform 4. Sentencing Reform |
