Irmo High School International School of the Arts hosts a rock star themed recruitment event to hire more rock star educators.

Office The district's #TechIn5 Leadership Team wanted to create a meaningful event so they partnered with the Office of Human Resources. Angelica Palmer, a teacher at River Springs Elementary helps put together and brainstorm the ideas for the highlight event for the recruitment season.

Students, their family members, teachers, and administrators gathered together for this event to show what District Five was all about.

"District five would be perfect for any teacher to end up in," said teacher candidate, Alexis Kelly. "Just from the amount of support and how much everybody wants to grow. From teaching from two years to twenty-six years, everybody wants to learn and grow."

Everyone that worked this event wanted to leave a positive impact on their district. Allison Jaques, the Chief Human Resource Officer said: "I hope that people take away a glimpse of what it's like to be apart of such an amazing, professional, learning community."

A Chapin Middle teacher also states that "working here as a teacher, I feel so cared for and so supported and I think the entire atmosphere of this event is really communicating that to candidates."

Applicants registered for positions through an Eventbrite link and were also encouraged to apply through the district's website. To apply to join the School District Five family, visit: http://bit.ly/ApplyD5
