Impaired driving in focus for Labor Day

Posted

The Lexington Police Department, along with law enforcement agencies statewide, will be participating in the Sober or Slammer! Labor Day campaign will continue until Monday, September 7.

For the next several weeks, officers of the Traffic Safety Unit and Patrol Division will be focused on DUI enforcement and those who consume alcohol at Labor Day gatherings are asked to have a plan to get home safely.

The Sober or Slammer! campaign falls under the South Carolina Department of Public Safety Target Zero initiative to end all highway fatalities and this statewide effort includes state, county, and local law enforcement agencies working together on high-visibility enforcement with heightened public awareness.
