A Lexingon man died in a motor vehicle collision in Gilbert Apr. 9 .

Lester Jerome Blackwell, III, 52, was pronounced dead at the scene due to his injuries, according to Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher.

Blackwell was traveling through the intersection of Spring Hill Road and Spool Wheel Road when another driver struck Blackwell's vehicle.

The driver of the other vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries. 

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.

The collision remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
