Starting Wednesday, you won’t have to wait any longer to get your covid-19 vaccine shot.
You can call the DHEC Care Line at 1-855-472-3432 for assistance in making an appointment.
Major hospitals, 12 Doctor’s Cares, 7 DHEC sites and a mobile clinic give shots.
50 more locations will be available next week.
An estimated 627,800 of us are age 70 or older.

82,266 have been given.
67% of SC covid deaths have been 70 and older.
Beginning this week, any SC resident at least age 70 can make an appointment.
Vaccine can only be given by appointment. You can’t walk in and ask for the vaccine.
You will be asked for a driver’s license or other ID to confirm your age.
Pfizer vaccine requires 2 shots 21 days apart.
Moderna vaccine requires 2 shots 28 days apart.
You need to receive both shots of the same vaccine. The brands can’t be mixed.
Both shots are needed for complete protection.
Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are 94%-95% effective.
You will receive a vaccine card after your 1st shot to remind you when your 2nd shot is due.
