Storm Doesn't Stop Trump's Visit

President Donald Trump “loves” South Carolina.
He said a summer storm that blew over Airport High School where he spoke Monday evening was not going to stop him, although it was a “bumpy ride.”
He came to Lexington County to campaign for Gov. Henry McMaster.
“I wouldn’t do it to you,” Trump told the packed gymnasium audience after many had waited up to 5 hours for his arrival.
Trump called South Carolina a “special state” of hard-working patriots.
He described McMaster as a fighter who backed him early in his campaign.
He said McMaster supported him when others thought he couldn’t win.
The President said “South Carolina is doing unbelievable business” and credited McMaster for that success. For example, he said the closed Georgetown Steel plant had reopened due to his tax and tariff policies.
To much cheering, Trump spoke of strengthening the military, defending the county’s borders, promoting legal immigration and appointing “good” judges.
He said the US has been losing in trade with the European Union, Canada and Mexico. His proposed tariffs will balance trade and make trade fair, he said.
He said tax cuts, eliminating the Obamacare mandate, and cutting regulations had the economy booming with 3.4 million new jobs.
He asked for prayers for First District Congressional candidate Katie Harrington who was in a serious car accident over the weekend.
SC Agriculture Commissioner Hugh Weathers sang the National Anthem and the Airport High Color Guard presented the colors.
US Rep. Joe Wilson of Springdale spoke and said that his son Julian had served as Airport High student body president.
