Superintendent withdraws as college candidate

Lexington 1’s superintendent has withdrawn as a candidate to head a NC technical college.

Dr. Greg Little was 1 of 3 finalists for president of Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College.

“I wanted to let you know that as of this morning I withdrew my name from consideration for the AB Tech job,” he said.

“I felt like I owed it to my parents to explore this opportunity, but the more Julie and I talked the more we realized what a great situation we have here - a wonderful community, our children are thriving and we are engaged in trans formative work.

“We believe the best place for us is here.”

Dr. Little had said the position would put him closer to his ailing father.

“My father is in poor health and continues to decline,” he said.
