Swimming advisory at Blossom Street Bridge

Midlands Rivers Coalition has issued a swimming advisory for the Blossom Street Bridge site in Lexington County.

A water quality sample collected Wednesday, Oct. 16 came back above the standard for swimming in the Congaree River from the Confluence to the Rosewood Boat Ramp (aka the Jordan Memorial Boat Ramp). 

Follow-up sampling is being conducted today. Those results will be reported tomorrow afternoon.

Contact recreation (swimming, wading, tubing, paddling) is not recommended in the advisory area. At risk groups, including children, people with compromised immune systems, and people with open wounds, should use extreme caution.
