Town of Lexington dedicates new park

Posted

The Town of Lexington has dedicated the new section of Virginia Hylton Park.
The Pat Jeffcoat Serenity Park is located within the 6.5-acre downtown Lexington park.
Town Council approved the purchase of an additional 8.25 acres to expand the park to 14.75 acres.
Mayor Pro-Tem Hazel Livingston is overseeing park improvements to ultimately include 10 interior parks, a teen area, inclusive playground, water activity area and nature trails.
The Pat Jeffcoat Serenity Park is the 1st phase, built from $23,400 in donations and in-kind services.
A little free library has been placed inside the park and will be regularly restocked by the Jeffcoat family.
Pat Jeffcoat has been a significant contributor to the Town of Lexington’s beautification efforts such as Lexington Square Park and the Lexington Welcome Sign “Front Porch” at Sunset Blvd. at I-20.
