SC lawmakers may allow home delivery of beer and wine.
A bill would allow consumers to have beer and wine delivered as they do now with groceries and restaurant takeout.
SC law on beer and wine sales has been vague leaving home delivery somewhat open and unregulated, the Greenville News reported.
The bipartisan House bill was drafted with help from the SC Department of Revenue, SC Retail Association, SC State Law Enforcement Division, and the SC Wine and Spirit Wholesalers Association.
With covid-induced shutdowns last year, many states allowed restaurants and retailers to deliver beer, wine, and spirits.
Gov. Henry McMaster amended state law to allow for curbside and drive-thru beer and wine sales but not delivered.
