Jawain Dennis Francis has been sentenced to 14 years in prison on drug and firearms charges.

Francis, aka “Love,” 28, of West Columbia, pled guilty in federal court to being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition and to possession with intent to sell crack cocaine and cocaine.

West Columbia Police received a tip that “Love” was selling crack cocaine at Gentle Pine Apartments. A confidential informant was able to buy crack cocaine from “Love” on two separate occasions in November 2016.

On Dec. 1, 2016, officers arrested Francis on drug charges and found cocaine and crack cocaine, scales, $3,305 and a 9mm handgun and ammunition.

Francis admitted he sold crack cocaine and cocaine.

Francis is prohibited from possessing firearms based on convictions for strong arm robberies and indecent exposure.
