Chronicle readers should not be surprised by what two powerful utilities did in the legislature last week.
Lexington County-based SCANA and Duke Energy opposed a bill to enable more home and business owner use of solar power for electricity.
The two utilities’ lobbyists and supporters said using a natural energy source would cost them millions of dollars.
