8 Blowfish players make All-CPL teams

The Lexington County Blowfish were well-represented on the All-Coastal Plain League 1st and 2nd teams.

A total of 8 players were selected, including 1st team selections team co-MVP 3rd baseman Brennan Milone and 1st baseman Wes Clarke, both from the University of South Carolina, Lexington native and designated hitter Jared Kirven of College of Charleston and pitcher Will Abbott.

Milone led the team in 6 offensive categories (home runs, hits, doubles, RBI, runs, slugging percentage). Clarke finished with a .400 batting average, 4 home runs and 3 triples. Kirven finished 4th on the team with 21 RBI and a .325 BA. 

Shortstop Matt McDermott, pitchers R.J. Petit of South Carolina and Brett Kerry and his Gamecock teammates outfielder and team co-MVP Brady Allen and DH David Mendham of the Savannah Bananas made the 2nd team. 

Kerry and Petit were named the 2020 Jonathan Johnson Co-Pitchers of the Year. The award is named after the winningest head coach in Blowfish history.
