Lexington School District 2 athletes came away with gold medals on the 1st day of the SC HIgh School League Track and Field championships.
Over at Spring Valley High School, Airport's Jayla Jamison closed out her prep career with another 4 gold-medal performance. The University of South Carolina signee won the 100, 200 and 400 meters and long jump in Class 4A. 
Jamison finished her high school career with 12 state championship medals. 
Over at Lower Richland High School, Brookland-Cayce's Ian Myers took 1st place in the 200 meters. He also placed 3rd in the 100 meters and the Bearcats placed 4th in the 4x100 meter relay.
The track and field finals continue Saturday for Classes A, 2A and 5A.
