The S.C. Baseball Coaches Association’s Baseball All-Star Classic taking place May 21-23 at Lexington High School will feature 12 Chronicle Country players.

Nick Price (Chapin), Joel Sightler (Swansea) and Joseph Mims (Gilbert) were selected to the Class 4A/3A team. The South’s Class 5A/3A/1A team, co-coached by Lexington’s Brian Hucks and Collin Liggett (Spring Valley), will include Kyle Ecton (Dutch Fork), Noah Huffmaker and Chase Crouch (both of Lexington) and Jackson Hannon and Hunter Garris (both of River Bluff).

The Select game will feature Tyler Corbitt (Airport) of North and Jared Kirven and Jonathan Howlett (both of Lexington) and University of South Carolina-bound pitcher Josiah Sightler (Swansea).

The S.C. Coaches Association of Women’s Sports North-South All-Star Softball games will take place June 12-13 at the University of South Carolina at Aiken.

Carston Puckett (Gray Collegiate) will play for the North’s 5A/3A/1A team. Denaed Sandifer (Lexington) and Madison Miller and Ginna Leaphart were selected to the South’s 5A/3A/1A team and Kaitlyn Borchy (Chapin) and Michaela Derrick (Gilbert)

There were 14 Chronicle Country players selected to the All-State softball team:

CLASS 5A - Allie Light (Lexington), Ginna Leaphart, Andrea Lyon and Hannah Goodwin (White Knoll)

CLASS 4A- Kimber Bradley, Tracy Truesdale and Kyla Koch (all of Chap-in) and Hannah Fisher (Airport)

CLASS 3A - Savana Rosson, Madison Pride and Michaela Derrick (all of Gilbert)

CLASS 2A - Carston Puckett and Cameron Puckett (both of Gray Collegiate) and Jaylah Barr (Batesburg-Leesville)
