For the third straight year and fifth in the last six years, the Dutch Fork football team will finish the season at Williams-Brice Stadium.

The Silver Foxes claimed another Class 5A Lower State title Friday night with a 47-14 win at Summerville High School. It was the 24th straight win this season and 18th consecutive road victory for Dutch Fork (12-0), which is seeking a second undefeated season in 3 years.

It was also career win 400th for Dutch Fork head coach Tom Knotts.

Standing in the way of a “3-peat” is fellow unbeaten T.L. Hanna. The Yellow Jackets (14-0) defeated J.F. Byrnes 57-27 to claim the Upper State title and set up a first-ever meeting with the Silver Foxes.

Quarterback Ty Olenchuk set the tone once again for the Silver Foxes with five touchdowns.  He opened the contest with 2 touchdown passes in the first quarter to Jalin Hyatt of 54 and 12 yards to put Dutch Fork ahead 13-0.

Summerville (11-3) responded with a scoring drive to cut it to 13-7 in the second quarter. On the first play of Dutch Fork’s next season, Olenchuk tossed a 84-yard bomb to Gage Zirke to push the lead to 19-7 after the failed PAT.

The Silver Foxes capitalized off a Green Wave turnover and backup quarterback Graesen Underwood scored on a 1-yard run to make it 26-7.

Just before halftime, Olenchuk added his fourth score of the game. This time, it was a 8-yard touchdown run to send the Silver Foxes into the lockerroom up 33-7.

Ron Huff, who rushed for 142 yards, added a 21-yard touchdown run to close out the Dutch Fork scoring in the third quarter. After the Silver Foxes’ held Summerville out of the endzone, they drove the football downfield and Olenchuk scored on a 4-yard run with less than 5 minutes left.

Olenchuk finished 13-22 passing for 268 yards, the bulk of which were caught by Hyatt (6 receptions, 102 yards) and Zirke (4 receptions, 153 yards).

Summerville added a final score with 3:14 left on a 44-yard touchdown pass by Jonathan Bennett. This resulted in the lowest margin of victory and point total this season by the Silver Foxes, who failed to score more than 50 points.

For the season, Dutch Fork has outscored opponents 712-112.
