The Beth Daniel Junior Azalea is a junior specific tournament which showcases the Country Club of Charleston to the state’s top juniors.

For Lexington’s Isabella Rawl, it served to cement her competitive return to the links.

After missing a year of action recovering from a back injury, the Lady Wildcat and Clemson commit claimed the 3-day girls’ Junior Azaela tournament on Thursday. She held off Palmetto High School’s Chloe Holder in a sudden-death playoff to claim the trophy.

Lady Wildcat teammates Molly Hardwick tied of 7th and Karlee Vardees finished 11th at the event.

This was the 2nd tournament Rawl placed in the top 10 in the past month. On July 16, she tied for 6th place at the American Junior Golf Association junior tournament at Oldfield Golf Club in Okatie.

"She is fully back as she has just shown she can win on the highest level of junior golf in our state," Lexington head coach Brandon Smith said.

Another Chronicle Country golfer who’s also returning from an injury finds himself tied for 7th place at a PGA event in the Carolinas.. The Dutch Fork High School and University of South Carolina graduate is competing at the Wyndham Championship at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C.

Bryan was initially leading the event and finished Day 1 at 5-under 65. He’s scheduled to tee off for Round 2 at 12:45 pm and fans can follow his progress at www.pgatour.com or watch the final 2 rounds on CBS.
