Brookland-Cayce took a 60-46- win over Airport, Tuesday night. It was the first game in the Bearcats' brand new arena.

"They told me all week you have to win the first game in the new arena," said BC head coach Robert Wells. "I'm a BC alumni, and it's a great night to be a Bearcat."

BC scored the first 9 points to open the first quarter against Airport. The Bearcats extended the lead to 18-5 by the end of the quarter. The Bearcats opened the second quarter with two foul shots after a technical foul was called on the Eagles' bench over a disputed AHS 3-pointer that was waved off at the buzzer.
The Bearcats pushed the lead up to 19 points in the second quarter, but Airport was able to cut that lead to 12, 36-24, at the half.
The third quarter was almost all Airport. The Eagles cut BC's lead to 3. The Bearcats lead was 44-39 when the fourth quarter started.

Airport made a good run, but we countered," said Wells. We hit some really big shots."
BC scored the first 7 points of the fourth quarter to push the Bearcats lead back up to 12, at 51-39. Aubrey Richardson had a big second half for the Bearcats, scoring 12 points after halftime, and sparking BC.
The two teams traded baskets after BC upped its lead to double-digits again.

It was the Bearcats first Region 5,4A win. BC is now 9-11 overall, and 1-4 in the region. Airport falls to 3-18 and 0-5 in the region.
