Blowfish drop fourth straight game

There was no comeback this time for the Lexington County Blowfish Tuesday night at Grayson Stadium.

Lexington County rallied from a 4-run deficit on June 9 to stun the Coastal Plain League South Division-leading Savannah Bananas. This time, the Blowfish had no answers offensively in the 5-1 loss as pitchers Tyler Follis, Kyle Luigs and Hunter Phillips combined for 15 strikeouts.

Starter Follis struck out nine of the 12 Blowfish batters he faced in four innings of work. While Savannah (12-3) was held to six hits and were fanned nine times by pitchers Shane Drohan, Jacob Rye of Gilbert, Victor Santana and Brad Dzeskewicz, it managed to swipe 10 bases which helped set up their five runs.

Sean Parsons of River Bluff accounted for two of the Blowfish's four hits.

Lexington County (6-11) returns to action Thursday to begin a 3-game homestand against Florence. It will look to snap not only a 4-game losing streak overall, but 6-game skid at Lexington County Baseball Stadium.
