The RedWolves rallied with 5 runs in the top 7th for their 4th straight win in the 5-game series.

Mitch Barrow’s grand slam home run off Grayson Stoneking capped the comeback that sent Lexington County to its 5th straight loss. It was Barrow’s 2nd home run of the game, the first coming in the top 2nd off starter Daniel Rutherford.

Lexington County answered with a 2-run homer by Josh Gregory in the bottom half of the inning. The Blowfish added 4 runs on the board, 3 on a home run by Josh Senter of River Bluff High School to extend the lead to 6-1.

Florence started its rally in the 4th with a 3-run homer by Miguel Soto off Rutherford to cut the deficit to 6-4. After an RBI single by Houston Wright put the Blowfish up 7-4 in the bottom 4th, Stoneking threw 2 scoreless innings of relief.

Trouble started in the top 7th as John Mitchelll Carter reached on a throwing error by Tristan Hudson at shortshop. The 3rd error of the game occurred on a throw to 3rd base by Wright at 1st base after a fielder’s choice enabled Carter to score and cut the deficit to 7-5.

Back-to-back singles and a walk loaded the bases for Barrow, who took Stoneking’s 0-1 pitch over the centerfield wall to clear the bases. This marked the second straight go-ahead home run during the 5-game series for Florence.

Reliever Jared Lembcke entered in relief and got 3 straight flyball outs for the save.
