Posted

The Lexington County Blowfish will be hosting a Make-A-Wish sendoff party for Brayden Sox during Thursday's home game against the Macon Bacon.
Sox is a 12 year-old student at Meadow Glenn Middle School who loves watching and playing baseball. He was diagnosed with leukemia when he was 10 and is currently in treatment and to "knock cancer out of the park in November of 2019".
Sox will throw out the first pitch to his favorite Blowfish player, Jared Williams of Gilbert. His wish is to go to Atlantis and the Make-A-Wish South Carolina team will tell him the good news at the game.
The send-off party will be held in the Stadium Club for Sox, his family and friends to enjoy the game. He will also join the radio/livestream broadcast for an inning to talk about the night, his wish, and some of the local athletes he’s been able to meet during his journey.
The Make-A-Wish foundation creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Make-A-Wish South Carolina granted 184 wishes last year. The chapter receives funding through private donations, individuals, companies, and special events.
