Posted

The 5th Annual Capital City Cup starts Wednesday with 6 Chronicle Country participants.
The 5-day tournament will feature 24 teams split into two brackets - a Gold Division and Silver Division competing in at least 3 matches.
Match sites will feature 3 artificial turf fields at Chapin, River Bluff  and Memorial Stadium as well as a natural grass field at Cardinal Newman. Columbia will serve as an alternative turf field in the event of inclement weather.
The Gold and Silver Division semifinals will take place at Chapin and Memorial Stadium. The Silver Championship at 2 pm and Gold Championship at 4 pm will take place at Chapin.
Last year, Dutch Fork defeated Wando 2-1 in the Gold Division Championship to snap the Warriors’ state-record winning streak. Greenwood defeated Hartsville on penalty kicks to win the Silver Division.
