Former Lexington High soccer champions see action against South Carolina

The first full week of University of South Carolina women’s soccer will mark a “Homecoming” for Lexington High School’s former “Big Three”.

On Sunday, the College of Charleston pays a visit to Stone Stadium to face the Gamecocks. It’s the second collegiate contest for former Lexington High School Players of the Year Megan Classer and Mary Katherine Waters.

On Thursday, archrival Clemson University and former Lady Wildcat Brooke Power pays a visit to Columbia.

Both matches kick off at 7 p.m.

The trio led the most successful stretch of women’s soccer in school history at Lexington. During their four-year stretch, the team won 96 games, won 44 straight region games, claimed four region title, made four Lower State finals, captured two of them, and finished undefeated in winning the school’s first-ever state title in 2016 on Classer’s “Golden Goal”.

All three were also winners of the S.C. Coaches Association of Women’s Sports girls’ soccer players of the year in Classes 4A and 5A, respectively.
