Golf, cross-country teams earn titles for Lexington High School

Tuesday was a day championships were won by Lexington High School teams.
Earlier in the day at the Ponderosa Club in Batesburg-Leesville, the girls' golf team continued its domination by claiming another region title. Molly Hardwick led the Lady Wildcats with a 1-under-par score as Lexington posted a team score of 316 to win by 28 strokes over Chapin. 
River Bluff (368) finished in 3rd place, followed by Dutch Fork and White Knoll. 
Lexington's Karlee Vardas placed 2nd behind Hardwick in the individual standings, followed by Chapin's Emily Baker, Lexington's Emily Beiers and River Bluff's Lauren Oh.
Up next is the Class 5A Lower State tournament starting Monday at The Traces Golf Club in Florence. 
Back on campus, the Lexington High School cross-country teams swept the boys' and girls' Lexington County championships. The boys continued their winning streak at the event led by Zander Jeffcoat's 1st place first and the girls were first-place finishers as well. 

Up next is the Region 5-5A championships set for Oct. 30 in Chapin.
