With that tweet from Las Vegas Aces' rookie forward and former national champion A'Ja Wilson, Lexington guard Olivia Thompson made a verbal commitment to the University of South Carolina Saturday.
"I am happy to announce I will be pursuing my basketball career at the University of South Carolina. 
The USA Today All-USA South Carolina second team and first-team All-Chronicle Country selection, Thompson averaged 21.4 points a game, 4.5 rebounds and 3.2 assists. 
Her 105 3-pointers made led the Palmetto State and she became the all-time leading scorer in school history. 
Thompson is the second Chronicle Country female player to commit with one of the Palmetto State's "Big Two" schools. Two-time S.C. Basketball Coaches Association Class 3A Player of the Year Danae McNeal of Swansea announced plans to sign with archrival Clemson.
