It was another doubleheader split Tuesday between the Lexington and River Bluff basketball teams.
Each outcome was the opposite of the 1st meeting 3 nights ago at Wildcat Gymnasium.
In girls' action, the Lady Gators defeated 8th ranked Lexington 47-36. It was the 1st victory by River Bluff over its archrival since Feb. 3, 2015 and snapped a 9-game losing streak in the series.
Samiri Khalil led all scorers with 20 points and Reagan Rozier added 14 points for the Lady Gators (2-3, 1-1). She had 6 points in the 4th quarter as part of a game-ending 19-4 run by River Bluff to rally from a 32-28 deficit late in the 3rd quarter.

The boys' game saw the visiting Wildcats rally for a 44-41 victory. It was the 1st loss of the season for the 9th ranked Gators (5-0, 1-1), who were without the services of Top 8 senior guard Myles Jenkins and Taejan Myers.
Despite Jenkins' absence, River Bluff built an early 17-9 advantage. Malachi Reeves carried the offense with 9 of his team-high 16 points for River Bluff.
Lexington answered with 8 unanswered points, 6 on 2, 3 pointers by Cam Scott to tie the game. A low-scoring 2nd quarter for both teams saw the Gators hold a 22-21 halftime lead.
With Scott, who finished with 16 point, limited by foul trouble, River Bluff maintained its advantage well into the 4th quarter. Evan Haig and Grayson Renner each scored 10 points, while Zavier Measmer matched then with 10 as well for Lexington.
Down 42-41 with 13 seconds left, Measmer scored on a baseline layup to put the Wildcats on top. Noah Adams was fouled with 5.6 seconds left after River Bluff's failed attempt to reclaim the lead and made 2 free throws.
The Gators' last possession ended with Swae Young dribbling out the final seconds after stealing the long inbounds pass.
