Having helped head coach Monica Williams reach 400 career wins this past Saturday, the Irmo girls' basketball team reached a new high Tuesday.
The Lady Yellow Jackets moved up to 2nd in the latest S.C. Basketball Coaches Association's Class 5A girls' rankings. They entered Tuesday's matchup with 5th ranked Sumter for 1st place in Region 4-4A riding a 5-game winning streak.
Meanwhile, the Irmo boys moved up a notch to 3rd behind 3-time defending state champion Dorman whose coached by former Lexington High School guard Thomas Ryan and Mauldin. Both River Bluff and Dutch fell to 9th and 10th, respectively.
The Gray Collegiate boys remain at number 1 in Class 2A, while its girls' team were in 8th place.
