The 2020 Shrine Bowl will have some local coaching flavor.
Wade Hampton's Jerry Brown, who previously worked at Batesburg-Leesville and Northside Christian Academy, will lead the Sandlappers in next year's contest.
White Knoll head coach Dean Howell will serve as an assistant along with Glynn Darby (Bethune-Bowman), Mark Hodge (Chapman), George Harrelson (Travelers Rest) and John Cantey (Bishop England).
Another South Carolina assistant will be named at a later date.
This year's Shrine Bowl is set for 1 p.m on Dec. 21 at Gibbs Stadium. Wide receiver Jalin Hyatt and defensive lineman Trey Irby of 4-time defending Class 5A champion Dutch Fork and offensive lineman Nick Taiste of White Knoll were selected to this year's Sandlappers' team.
